During labor and birth

*Provide continual support throughout labor (including early support in your home if desired), birth, and immediately after the baby is born.

* Offer comfort measures during labor and birth.

* Facilitate communication between you and your care-provider, including explaining medical procedures and concerns if they arise.

* Maintain a calm and peaceful birth environment.

* Record the events of the birth as much as possible and assist with photography.

Post Partum

* Assist in initiating breastfeeding if that is desired.

* Continue to provide support until you are ready for family time and rest.

* Provide continued phone/email access during the pospartum period for concerns regarding your health, newborn care, breastfeeding etc.

Rates

My current rate for these services is $400.  The initial $200 is due once you have selected me as your doula and it will secure your due date in my calendar.  The remainder is due at the 36 week point in your pregnancy.

If you feel unable to afford this rate, before you decide that you just can't afford doula services, please contact me and we can work together to find an alternative payment plan.  I believe every pregnant woman deserves a doula and I will work with you to insure this outcome.

"If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it."
